The organizing committee is pleased and honored to invite you for APICON 2014 to be held at Ludhiana, the financial capital of Punjab from 20th to 23rd February, 2014. Ludhiana is centrally located and the largest city of Punjab. It is also a medical and educational centre of North India. There are two medical colleges and the world famous Punjab Agricultural University in the city.
It is also a hub for hosiery and cycle industry in India. You will get an opportunity to shop around for the best woolens and cotton textiles from the manufacturing units which produce for the top brands of Europe. Their factory outlets will be an attraction to visit during your spare time. You will also enjoy the famous punjabi food. Punjab is famous for music and dances like bhangra and gidha which you can enjoy in the evenings.
The scientific chairman is planning an extensive academic programme with the help of an international and national faculty. We will be having some unique sessions like live workshops, case discussions, medical quiz and interactive sessions besides the orations, guest lectures, free papers and posters. The venue chosen has lush green lawns and excellent halls for sessions with state of art acoustic and audio-visual facilities.
Ludhiana has excellent accommodation facilities ranging from 5 star hotels and 4 - 3 star facilities along with Punjab Agricultural University and many beautiful farm houses. Traveling to Ludhiana will be an easy affair as it is close to Chandigarh and Amritsar which are connected by air nationally and internationally. Ludhiana is well connected to Delhi by road and by train.
The weather in the second half of February is the best in the year. You will enjoy exploring Punjab especially the Golden Temple, the Durgiana Mandir, the Jalianwala Bagh and the Wagah Border at Amritsar, the Famous Bhakra Dam at Nangal and the Virasat-e-Khalsa at Anandpur Sahib. Also some of you might be able to find time to take a pre/post conference tour to some of the important destinations around Punjab like the famous Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and Patni Top in Jammu and Kashmir; Rock Garden, Rose Garden and Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, the Pinjore Garden, and Timber Trail Resorts in Himachal Pradesh.
